Outreach News - 7/08/11

1. As a reminder, attached is a FCC Public Notice in which they seek comment on the advisability of initiating a Rule Making procedure for 700 MHz air-to-ground channels. This initiative, which was requested by NPSTC, has a due date of next Friday, July 15. Please note that the requested 700 MHz channels are not in either the “General” or “State” pool of 700 MHz channels. Interested parties are requested to formulate comments per the three questions asked by the Commission. With respect to the use of these channels, the FCC’s ULS shows that they are not licensed to any public safety agency in the United States (one experimental station in Florida and a filing by the State of Colorado, but no license issued).

2. Sprint has filed a Petition for Declaratory Ruling relative to channels in the 800 MHz ESMR band. Please see attached for the filing.
